Don't Waste Money on this Game Sep 25, 2009 I recently bought a Wii and Wii Sports Resort and wanted to add more interactive games to play. I thought World Championship Athletics would be a good choice, but this game was really disappointing. The game comes with a lot of Olympic style sports but I found a majority of them to be very difficult to master. Unlike Wii Sports Resort, your movements are not picked up easily by the sensor bar which makes for very frustrating game play. Another frustrating feature is that this game requires the use of the nunchuck. That's not a big deal in itself, however, you are not allowed to disconnect the nunchuck on events that you don't even use the thing. That means you have to hold the nunchuck in one hand while trying to master the controls/movements with your other hand. It's so frustrating especially since the tutorials that come with this game are mediocre at best. The game manual doesn't help either. There's a lot of guesswork and trial and error to learn how to play each event. Another issue is that it takes forever to transition from one event to the next. If you decide to quit the event you are currently playing to switch to a different event, the game takes forever to load to the new one. Not to mention you have to endure watching some stupid monkey dancing around your screen while you wait for your game to load. He even shows up at your events. It's a stupid and needless distraction. The game luckily didn't cost me $49 like most Wii games do, but now I wish I would've bought Mario Cart instead. Don't waste your money on this third-party garbage. Buy a Wii game made by Nintendo.
