The newest chapter of the Paper Mario story isn’t just out of this world…it’s out of this dimension! What at first glance appears to be a 2-D sidescroller ripped straight from the stylized pages of the Paper Mario universe soon turns into a hilarious dimension-shifting platformer possible only on Wii! 2-D...AND 3-D! Run through vibrant 2-D worlds, stomping on enemies and breaking blocks....then, with the press of a button, flip into 3-D! In the 3rd dimension, you'll find hidden paths, battle foes, and uncover secrets as you explore the previously invisible depth of the 2-D landscapes! Unique Wii controls! Hold the Wii Remote sideways and control the game in classic Super Mario Bros. style! You can shake the Wii Remote to pull off stylish moves and break out of frigid ice and even point directly at the screen to get helpful hints from your sidekick. Not only that, but you'll also play as Peach and Bowser, both with their own sets of essential skills. Hilarious adventure! When a mysterious villain kidnaps Peach and Bowser and forces them to get married, their union creates a rift of dark energy that threatens to tear the universe apart! Hilarious characters, laugh-out-loud plot twists, and unforgettable dimensions await as Mario makes his way through eight worlds, each more memorable than the last!

4Pretty good :3  Jul 20, 2010
by Amelia's daughter, Hannah (14 yrs old)

I didn't play the original Paper Mario, but I did play Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Gamecube. I have to say, the Gamecube version is harder. I was surprised to have beaten the game in less playing than it took me to finish the other.

However, this game is really fun to play! I like the unique storyline (they're collecting 8 Pure Hearts this time instead of Crystal Stars. That's the only obvious similarity.) and the cool graphics. The music is okay, nothing special. People say it's really text-intensive? It is, I guess, but it didn't bother me as much. The characters are awesome (villains, particularly. I like Nastasia) and so are the worlds.

The only truly negative thing about this game is the MAZE LEVELS. How I hate them so.

Overall, I think it's a good buy.

4Easy Mario  Jul 17, 2010
I was expecting this to be horrible based on the reviews, but I thought it wasn't that bad. I didn't play the original Paper Mario though.

The game is pretty easy. You can beat everything without dying and you won't get stuck trying to figure out a puzzle.

The only annoying thing was the DIALOGUE. I was ready to turn the game off in the beginning because it was 15 minutes of talking and you cannot skip through it.

Super Paper Mario is easy enough for kids and nice for adults who enjoy Mario. It's not an extremely challenging game so it works when you want something light and non-stressful to play. They should have fixed the excessive talking though =/

5Love This Game! Lots of Fun! Definately Recommend!  Jul 16, 2010
This game has been (and still is) so much fun for our family. My son who is 6 absolutely adores it! If you're buying this for a younger child, keep in mind that if they cannot read yet, your help is required. This game is also less of an action/fighting game (like Super Mario) and more of a puzzle-solving game. This might not go well with some kids. That said, my son loves following the storyline and playing a character in it. He loves discovering the secrets and switching characters and collecting cards. I love the time we spend trying to solve things together as we watch the story unfold. We love this game, and if you're a Mario fan, it's a must-have! Just keep in mind that it's different!

2The game for gamers who love reading captions  Jul 14, 2010
I've never had a problem with the endless reading and dialog in RPGs until Super Paper Mario. The reason being that the game play piece was ratcheted up to a really fun level and every time you got into a groove, you had to stop and read. It's weird to not like a game for being too good in one area, but the assets are so missbalanced, that I was completely frustrated.

3My son says it is OK  Jul 10, 2010
My son wanted to write a review of Super Paper Mario. Here is what he wrote.

Super Paper Mario is an OK game. I am a 9 year old boy. I had no difficulties with the wii remote and the wii.
You have to follow the story line. If you like the same kind of games as me this game will be OK. What I like is beating bosses, stomping bad guys and charging thrpugh the levels. Some levels are fun in some parts. Once you beat the whole game it is fun. But there is a lot of blah blah blah. I will kind of recommend this game.
