4Kiddo's love Cookie Monster!  Nov 10, 2010 By K. Theyerl "Momma of two"
I read a lot of the reviews for the Sesame Street Alphabet game and was hesitant to buy either game since it had mostly horrible reviews. Lo and behold a few days ago my husband came home with this one. My 2-1/2 year old cannot play some of the games by himself as he has problems getting the controller to respond properly and some of the games seem a bit advanced for him right now.

However, we play as a family...letting him use the controller for the games he can play and then helping him by an adult using the controller and he points at the correct answer on the screen. It's a pretty fun time. I'm guessing he'll master the controller soon and will be able to play on his own. We also use the Cookie Monster cover on the controller and have had no issues....as you only use the 2 button and this cover doesn't cover that button.

All that said, we absolutely love playing this game together. Lots of laughter and he's learning his numbers! Already put the other game on our wish list for Christmas since he gets such a kick out of this one!

4Love this game!  Nov 15, 2010 By Jessica Lavery
We are working with our 3 year old daughter on her numbers and this was right up our alley! She loves playing it and has so much fun! There are some games that are over her head and she needs help figuring out the answers, but we are play as a family! She doesn't seem to have much difficulty moving the controller to get it to do what she wants! Overall we love this game!!!

3It's ok but a let down overall  Jan 07, 2011 By tjs
We just got our Wii and our kids are so excited. They love playing on the computer and my 2 year old plays a Sesame Street one pretty well by herself so I thought this would be great for her and my preschooler (age 4). It is grossly overpriced for the games on there - you are paying for the Sesame Street name. You don't even get to personalize it with their name. They get assigned a shape & number as their profile. Lame. The remote is unresponsive which is frustrating because she will put it on the right answer (after much work!) and then it suddenly moves. It is completely boring for my 4 year because she knows her shapes, colors and numbers so it basically has become a game just for my 2 year old. It is very very basic - a good thing for your very young player, but I would have expected that you can select levels of learning. I am pretty disappointed that my 4 year old can't be challenged by this game. It's also frustrating if you have a very independent child (like I do!) who wants to do the remote all by themselves and it won't respond. The game has 2 sections Carnival and Games. In Games you can just select which games from the Carnival you want to play instead of going through the whole carnival....my daughter likes certain pattern games and it only gives you 3 patterns before returning to the menu. A trivial complaint but when you have problems with the remote it becomes annoying to maneuver back to where you were because your child still wants to play that same game. Overall a disappointment, but I guess nice to have a game for just our youngest to play since there are very few things that are just hers. Would have liked to pay a lot less for it...

1Would not buy if we had tried it first.  Jan 01, 2011 By jenk
We bought this game for our 3 year old son. He loves the idea of the games and is eager to play. However, it is very aggravating to him and us that the wii remote has such a hard time controlling the game. In many of the games, he needs to tilt the remote to get the cursor to move to the right answer. The cursor usually skips the answer or will not move where it needs to be. While the concept of the game is great, the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

5Excellent learning game for preschoolers!  Aug 07, 2011 By HeatherB in TX
I picked this game up used for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. She has really enjoyed the game! Yes, the controls took some getting used to but it keeps her attention! My 10 1/2 year old is chomping at the bit to actually play the game with her. And yes, it is boring for adults. But again, this game is designed for a child and there are definitely other Wii games for preschoolers that are MUCH harder for them to control on their own.
