Reel Fishing: Angler's Dream offers beautiful, picturesque fishing locales, from calm, tranquil lakes to the beaches of tropical paradises. You'll feel like you're really in nature as you listen to the gentle lapping of waves, the call of distant birds, and the splash of hungry fish ready to be hooked. You'll battle more than forty different types of fresh and saltwater fish in your quest to become a master angler. Each fish looks, moves, and fights just like the real thing; they'll flee, dive, and jump out of the water in an effort to dislodge your hook or break your line. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, you'll believe you're really fishing as you cast, reel, and move your rod. When you're done fishing, head back to the lodge. There you can get expert tips and advice from the Fishing Master, raise and care for your most prized catches in the aquariums, check out the prizes and equipment that you've earned, and learn about the tough and wily Legendary Fish that you might one day catch. Whether you are a casual angler or a seasoned veteran, Reel Fishing: Angler's Dream is the next best thing to actually being there!

5Challenging, Realistic and Entertaining Fishing Experience  Sep 18, 2009 By J. Fannie
I just wanted to add to my review. I have now been able to play this game further and found it very entertaining. I have met all goals to proceed thru all the fishing areas and now yu need more stargety in finding and lauring the fish as you seek the "big ones" Granded the landing of the fish is a little anti-climatic but it does take skil and attention to land time since differnt fish have different movemnets and actions that you need to reach. I am quite please and find it is everything as advertized.

I have had the game for about a month and have had time to play. My initial reaction had to do with the fish master. In the initial visit he actually spoke until you where ask to enter your name. When you returned he no longer spoke and you need to read the screen thereafter. I contacted Natsume via e-mail and was pleasantly surprised at the fast response (within 2 hours) with a very precise answer. The reason is the game is limited to 50 lines of audio speech. Nothing is wrong with game this is working correctly. As you go along the Fish Master does periodically speak.

I had another issue that the program froze and since I did not save my progress this was lost. I again contacted Natsume again a very quick response with a reasonable answer. I want to take the time here to say that Natsume has been excellent in providing outstanding customer service. Turns out the problem was due to my remote have low power and about to shutdown. Has worked fine. However, I do recommend that you save often.

I have now met the goals ad progress from Lake (lure Fishing), Midstream (Fly Fishing), Rock Coast (Bait Fishing), and Back to Lake for Bait Fishing. Caught all species and size of fish. They all fight and act differently and keep your interest. I am now to Open Sea fishing where you have LARGE fish and they jump out if the water and dive as you reel them in.

You do not have a line stress meter (like real fishing); you need to get the feel of the fish and its actions to know how to land it. (Like Real fishing). You can go back to lodge gain knowledge where the fish are base don the season and weather conditions (like real fishing).

The graphics are very good and you get surface, about surface and underwater views depending on the type of fishing the lures and the action of the fish. I feel this game is addictive and very entertaining. I have rented some of the other fishing games and none provide the challenge that Reel fishing provides. Granted initially it is frustrating and you may not land fish (just like real fishing) once you master the art of casting, reeling and reading the fish it is great.

And for the price I recommend this game.

5Extremely ENTERTAINING  Feb 15, 2010 By dono56
I have rated this 5 STARS FOR FUN but it is showing up.
Its true this game was frustrating at first until I learned the things that were going wrong (with the exception of it freezing up one time) stopped happening as I moved through the different fishing locations. I have now made it to the end and have found all the legendary fish I have completed all goals. After I really started to learn this game it became fun and addicting. I found out if you use different poles (as you earn them) the fish act differently when reeling them in. The casting can still be a little frustrating it seems it isn't consistent you can do the same thing twice and get different results. I was having problems with the line drawing back in some instances before a fish had bitten because I had the bait on the bottom and when I moved the lure up everything seemed to work as it should. This is more like a true experience once you learn the fish and how to fight them. Yes I agree with another reviewer the landing can be a little anticlimactic but the fight with the fish is fun and all are different. I wish they had made more room in the aquariums I had to let one legendary fish go to house another. I found information in the booklet that came with it very helpful when I was stuck.
If you are one of the people who also found this frustrating at first I would encourage you to try again it can be very fun. If you have problems I would say to you to email the manufacturer and maybe they can get some of the problems resolved for you. I have tried 4 different fishing games on the wii without a doubt this is the most fun of all I rate it number 1 for the wii.

3Better than some, could be better  Sep 12, 2009 By E. S. Daughtry
I wouldn't say this game is terrible, as the 2 previous reviews stated. It has some addictive qualities to it. You get to unlock new lure sets and new locations. You also get badges for completing challenges and catching legendary fish. The graphics are decent, and the ambient music is very relaxing. The game does take a little bit of getting used to. There is no line tension gauge or line distance gauge either. You have to pay attention closely to the fish's movement to take the appropriate Wii motions. The game allows you to go through the motions of a fishing pole and cranking the nun-chuck, or you can unplug the nun-chuck and just use the A and B button to crank. A couple of drawbacks to the game would be the fact that your livewell can only hold 3 fish at a time and your aquariums will not allow you to hold one of every species of fish in the game. For [...], I am not disappointed in the game. If it was closer to [...], then perhaps I would be a little disappointed. One thing that was mentioned in a previous review was that there are not any underwater views, it depends on the lure type, if you fish with a topwater, it will be viewed from the top. If fishing with a lure that sinks or runs underwater, it takes a few seconds for the lure to submerge, causing the view to change to an underwater view.

1REEL FISHING, THUMBS DOWN.  Jul 06, 2011 By Frank H. Kubiak
This game has absolutely no merit, period. It is not user friendly, in plain english it SUCKS!!! It is possible it may be the fishing rod, I have not tried it with only the remote. Too much BS, not enough fishing. It is diffcult to change lures etc.

5One of the most relaxing games I have ever played  Oct 20, 2010 By T. Alexander Johnson
What a great game! So many levels, so many fishes, so much fun. The back grounds are mesmerizing and the fishing is relatively realistic and fun. The game does provide underwater views and the casting is not all that hard to learn. I can cast every time no problem. It can be a bit challenging, especially when tackling(ha!) the legends but that is part of the fun. Don't let the other reviewers get you down. Reel Fishing Angler's Dream is the best fishing in town. Like the box says its the #1 selling fishing franchise for a reason!
