Don't take a chance on third-party garbage Jul 18, 2010 I shudder to think of how much money I've spent on video games and accessories over the years. One rule I've had since I got my first system (an NES when I was 4 years old) is that when proprietary technology is involved I ALWAYS buy first-party, even though you're paying a premium. You and your friend could buy seemingly-identical third-party accessories, but his could be great and yours could be utter garbage. The range of quality of third-party products is so broad that every time you get one it's a complete crapshoot - maybe you luck out and it works fine, maybe it doesn't. And if it doesn't, good luck getting your money back. Unless I need something that's not made first-party (a turbo controller, for example) or something non-proprietary (a standard HDMI cable), I will always buy first-party.
That's why I got these. Yeah, they're a bit pricey, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. It would be nice if the Gamecube component cables were compatible with the Wii (they're not), or if they were bundled with the system (like the 360). Better yet, include an HDMI option with the system. But if you want 480p from the Wii get these, the official Nintendo product - otherwise, you may be sorry later.
I must if you have component input in your set Jul 14, 2010 These cables improved somewhat the image quality from my Wii, not much, because from 480i to 480p the difference is little, but is good to know that you are getting the best images possible by some original cables, although a little bit expensive, but is just good to have them, like I said before.
Only if you Have the Money Jul 07, 2010 I bought this item with money that Amazon had given me from other purchases. I believe it was from pre-ordering a game. They gave me money to spend on video games. I wanted to see what the games would look like in better quality cables so I wanted this Item. I read bad reviews on the knock off cables that are like a 5th of the price of this one but since Amazon gave me money it became the same price. The image is great. It is very sharp. Some games can be too sharp. You see more edges and flaws in the video games from the clarity. So just be careful and make sure this is what you actually want. Its not the same as getting HDMI for your PS3 or XBOX.
Wii component cables Jun 26, 2010 I was able to pick these up for about half the price of them new in the store. Just wish the packaging was a bit upgraded. Seller did not specify with a original box / packaging and it was not included, would have been happier with it.
Works well for what it is supposed to do, but.... May 17, 2010 wish the audio cables could be separated from the video components. Since they are all bunched together with ~8 inches of wire, the audio and video ports have to be close together on your TV. Since my audio goes through a receiver, I had to purchase a coupler and BNC extension cable to run the audio. Otherwise, works well and am happy with it.
