Get ready to mix it up with 4 sports on 1 Wii disc! Play sports with Mario & popular Nintendo characters Up to 4 players of any age can have a blast together Features Volleyball, Dodgeball, Basketball & Hockey Mario has a long history as a sports fan. Throughout his storied career he has pursued an interest in golf, tennis, baseball and go-karting, to name just a few. Now Mario?s tackling four different sports at the same time, all of them included on one disc for the Wii console. The game MARIO SPORTS MIX lets players jump into games of hockey, basketball, volleyball or dodgeball. The game launches on Feb. 7. MARIO SPORTS MIX presents these four familiar sports - but with a Mario twist. Players can choose from a variety of playable Mushroom Kingdom characters and can even challenge Mario and friends directly by playing as their own Mii characters. Each game contains a number of Mushroom Kingdom power-ups that can turn the tide of a game in an instant, such as banana peels, green shells and even mini mushrooms. In over-the-top Mario sports fashion, each character can unleash his or her unique special move that ranges from Mario?s fire dunk in basketball to Yoshi?s rainbow attack in dodgeball. Players can also elect to hold their matches in a number of interesting venues. For example, the Wario Factory has conveyor belts that affect how the players move on the court, while in Peach's Castle, fountains go up and down to block certain areas of the net in Volleyball. Up to four friends who are in the same room can join in the fun, while up to four players (one or two at each location) can compete over a broadband Internet connection via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players can play online against friends with whom they have traded friend codes, or anonymously against other opponents. Multiplayer modes require additional controllers, which are sold separately.

5Very fun game with good Online Play!!!  Feb 09, 2011 By Brandon "BPR"
I don't understand why some people think this is a bad game because to me this game is very fun! This game is a blast if you have people to play with, and even if you don't Wi-Fi is great. Wi-Fi has a points system something like what Wii Sports has and if you get to 1000 you get a medal for that sport. There is alos little to no lag during online play. The game also has a lot to do for just 1 player. It will take you a while to unlock everything this game has to offer. Anyone who puts Dodgeball down has not played this game because it might be the best game on the disc! All 4 sports are well done and easy to play. I think this is an excellent title that any Wii owner and Mario fan should at least try out. The only thing this game lacks in for me is music. I thing they could have had much better music in this game, but this game to me is excellent.

5This game rules! Mario and the gang are BACK!  Mar 19, 2011 By Patrick Star
We have a 5-year-old daughter and twin 6-year-old boys - they all LOVE this game. It's fun for Dad as well. There are four sports - Basketball, Hockey, Dodgeball and Volleyball. I personally think that's more than enough because each sport is very well done.

I like that the kids have to learn cooperation in order to be successful (ie pass to the other player in basketball to do an alley-oop, etc). The Mario characters are great as always - all of the favorites are included and they each have special "power moves" for each sport that are really cool.

You can pick from many different "playfields" for each sport - each of which adds some special twist to the game (for example, the Waluigi Pinball stadium has a giant pinball that rolls around and must be avoided while playing).

As is typical with a Nintendo Mario game - the more you play the more special playfields and characters you unlock, which keeps the kids really entertained.

The sound effects, music, and graphics are all top notch. You can play with just the Wii controller turned sideways (which is what we do, much easier for the kids) or with a Wii controller and nunchuck. The controls themselves are not too complicated - again perfect for a kid's game.

I have not bothered to try out the Wi-Fi online capabilities because we have been blessed with a large family and have plenty of competition around the house. However the capability is there and from what I have read elsewhere the online play is great too. But if you have four Wii controllers and enough people, you can play 2 on 2 which is the most fun.

This is the kids' favorite game right now - great replay value. It's pricey right now because it's a new game, but I still highly recommend it. If you or your kids enjoy Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart Wii, etc. then this is a great choice to add to your collection.

Just understand that these are not designed to be "realistic" sports simulations - the NBA doesn't allow goaltending every shot or throwing turtle shells at your opponent (at least I don't think they do - I haven't watched a game in awhile). But it's really great fun once you learn the Mario way to play!

4Great group game  Mar 04, 2011 By Dr. DR "Bronx shrink"
I have played this game with my kids (6 and 11). It is an excellent cooperative play game for a family or group. The controls are not too complex, good music & graphics and simple enough for younger kids to play successfully. My only complaint is that there are only 4 sports. I expected more for the price. We were hoping to unlock additional sports as we progressed, but have only unlocked additional locations. Still, it's good fun.

4Great for kids under 10 and their parents!  Mar 25, 2011 By Joseph K. Blunck "Timeless"
Mario Sports Mix is a great game for kids under 10 years-old and their parents (if they play together). It can be picked up and played easily by a newer gamer. It can get a bit repetitive for older kids or hard core gamers but they shouldn't buy this game anyway. For the right group of gamers this is a great addition to the Wii! Enjoy!

4Great game for kids!  Jul 07, 2011 By CC Secunda
We purchased this for my son's 7th birthday. He has been playing it non-stop with his 10 year old brother! They both love it. There are different games to play and if you play long enough, they add new venues and characters, which the kids find exciting. Colors are bright and my 7 year old was able to figure out how to play the game on his own.
