Ice age 2 May 27, 2010 We have had great fun with ourselves and the grandchildren over 8 , 4and 6 a bit young yet.

Hard for Young Kids Dec 31, 2009 While the box says it's for 3+ years of age, ha! It is tough to figure out how to maneuver the controls. I would not recommend this game for kids under 6 years old. The graphics are great and it's creative, but for older kids.

Doesn't Require "Cheat" Book To Solve! Dec 03, 2009 This is not for hard-core gamers but, as an adult who enjoys light game play (i.e. I have a busy life and can't dedicate long hours to working through tough parts) , I think Ice Age 2 for the Wii is an ideal level of difficulty and gives just enough positive reinforcement at the right times to keep me "sucked in" to the game! IMO, great for grade-school age and up (maybe a little too tough for younger kids). A nice combination of dexterity and strategy/thought are required for success. Best of all, the more difficult parts of the game are solvable without purchasing a solution book. I also agree with two other reviewers in the following respects: (1) Not much info is contained in the instruction booklet. But nothing more is needed. You simply need to hook up the nunchuk and start playing. (2) Except for the mini-games, the control is largely via the "joystick"-like button on the nunchuk, which makes directing little Scrat around a bit like playing on other consoles rather than the usual Wii-type control (i.e. point the control at the screen and move it around). I loved this game-- my husband got annoyed that I became addicted to it (he got sick of the background music on the "pause" screen needed for my frequent pauses to tend to our baby), and the game never frustrated me enough that I got tired of devoting time trying to work through the difficult parts.

Great for young kids! Jun 28, 2009 This has been one of our favorite games for the Wii, as a family game played mostly by our then 4 year old (with assistance from us), who still likes to revisit it on occasion. He's 6 now and is playing it again today. There are still some parts he has a little trouble with, so that keeps it interesting. I do wish they had a way you could play the mini-games again without playing through the levels to get tot them, because some of them are a lot of fun (penguin bowling and the one where Sid slides down trying to avoid the chunks of ice). We have quite a few games based on animated movies, but this one has been the best we played. Most of the others have major flaws, like being hard to control the characters or just being boring or awkward to play. We are hoping the Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs will be fun too. Experienced and older gamers will probably not like this game, but we have had a blast with it!
I love it! Dec 19, 2008 I bought this game as a present and it was opened and used on my own machine. We both loved it . After the holiday I will get one of my own.
