Fun...Guitar Hero Dance Moves? Nov 02, 2008
By Peter Gordon Bought this on the spur of the moment, because they didn't have Medal of Honor 2 (and it was buy two get one free at target)...figured I'd be a responsible father . My 8 yr old daughter and I just played it. Did the Tutorial together, and got frustrated--seemed like we weren't getting it. Then played the real game, chose a song, did the dance moves as a duo and got an "A"...wahoo...boy did her opinion change after that! It was a ton of fun! Takes work to go through the tutorial, and it can be frustrating, but the game seemed easier than the tutorial, and was rewarding. She seems to really like it! Now, to see if my 5 yr old son gets into it?
It plays like Guitar hero, with arm movements (instead of chords and strumming). Time the bubbles blowing up when moving your arms holding the wii remote and nunchunk, doing High School Musical dance moves like in the movie. Ok, not like in the movie--but that's the idea.
I can't believe I am admitting to doing this, in public.
Good game overall, recommended for families with young children!

Game is good for young children only Dec 27, 2008
By Lauren Michaels I bought this game for my 13 year old daughter. Her grandma asked me to get a game for her to play on the new Wii they were buying the kids for Christmas. I read the reviews on this and figured it was iffy whether she'd like it or not. She liked the movies so I thought she might like this. She too was disappointed the voices are not the real ones of the songs from the movie and the dance moves are way too easy for her. This game is better geared for young children. I think it's deceiving to put the picture of the actual singers on the cover and then not have their voices singing the songs.

Rent It Before Buying May 19, 2009
By WestCoast Mom You "dance" with only your arms, moving the wiimote and nunchuck up, down, and to the side following the onscreen prompt. Really, who dances like that? I don't know why all the dancing titles don't use mats! Anyway, unlike this game in other platforms, it is arm swinging only, no mat or feet use. Other negatives- your on screen charector doesn't dance with you, or even perform the same moves as you. Your movements don't follow the beat. So you are literally standing there waving your arms around (with the wii cord smacking your face every third wave), trying to match the prompt while all the cast is having a great time singing and dancing around looking nothing like you. The prompt is a large circle of lines around your charactor, and a bubble moves from inside the circle out you are to wave your arm thru the circle at the same time. kinda distracting. Also, almost everything is locked in the beginning except about 8 songs. Positives are great graphics, and we recognized all the songs. So for me it was weird and boring, but I must admit my 8 yr old daughter really likes the game and has been playing it nonstop. The price listed here is incredibly high for what you get. Maybe the unlocked portions will reveal some new fabulous feature but otherwise I recommend checking it out first before you buy it and a wireless remote is a must.

By Huy Doan This is a fun game for the family. it lets you relive moments from the HSM movies, and you can sing along with your friends. The graphics are pretty good for a wii game, and its easy to learn. Also the vfx are amazing!
