Misleading item description Nov 10, 2010
By T. Nordstrom This item works fine, and I am reasonably happy with the performance. I am quite upset that the item is not a name-brand Nintendo product. The description says "Nintendo RVL-014" as if that is the Nintendo part number, but it is an off-brand look-alike. The quality is much lower than the one that came with my Wii. The plastic is noticeably lighter and cheaper. If you look at the box it comes in, they even have a fake Nintendo seal of quality on it (it is the same shape and color but has different words in it), as well as a fake Wii logo (if you look at the logo, the i's are connected). Clear signs this is not name brand as the description would strongly suggest. I hate being misled.

Range sucks Aug 12, 2010
By R. Sutter It works...as long as the Wiimote is within 6 feet. Can't use it from my couch that's only 7 feet from the screen. Don't buy.

Sensor range is too short Apr 08, 2010
By Conan Saunders It works, but the sensor range is not as long as the original sensor bar that came with my Wii (cat chewed the cord of the original). You have to be closer to the TV for it to register the motion of the Wiimote. This bar has trouble detecting motion beyond about 7 or 8 feet, whereas the original sensor bar properly detected motion 10-12 feet from the TV. I don't know if it's just this one unit, or if they're all this way, but I would not buy this one again.

A RIP OFF Dec 17, 2010
By Coffee Lover
"Vikki"
My vacuum cleaner destroyed the wired sensor bar that came with my Nintendo Wii system. So I ordered this item from CE Compass in good faith. The description says "RVL-014 Wired Sensor Bar by Nintendo", the replacement part I needed. The only thing that was good about the order is that it arrived on time. Other than that fact:
1)The sensor bar I received was part RVL-009 NOT RVL-014. I checked out the Nintendo site to view compatibility issues. And lo and behold, RVL-009 is the part number for cables not the wired sensor bar. 2) Upon reading the imprint on the back of the product it says Wi-i NOT Wii. No where is the word Nintendo on the part I received. 3) It does not plug-in into the system as tight as the original.
I would return the thing but between postage and the mandated 15% restocking fee it's not worth it!
SAVE YOUR MONEY. If this is how they do business avoid dealing with CE COMPASS!

Not a happy camper Feb 16, 2011
By Huey I purchased this sensor bar based on the fact that it stated it was "by Nintendo". My thought was to stick with the brand name of the system. When I got the sensor bar I noticed it wasn't made by Nintendo, as advertised, and it wouldn't work unless I stayed within 2 feet from the senor bar. That is not usable for me. AEstore said they would give a full refund, if I returned it, so I did. Almost 2 weeks after the Post Office verified delivery, they (AEstore) were still saying they had not received the package. I finally got a refund, but I'm out shipping cost. The product isn't worth while, and the seller is hard to deal with.
