What a disappointment! Mar 29, 2010 We got this for our 2 year old as a birthday present because she loves Mickey and co. As one reviewer said she didn't enjoy it. :( She could barely get to the arrows on the mat in time with the music. Plus she didn't like the remixes. She's just like her parents... a classics gal!
The other disappointment is that the mickey characters don't move the way you're supposed to!! They're just moving to their own beat... not the one that the game is 'telling' you to do. I mean seriously come on!!!! If I invested this much money to buy something, it would be nice if the mickey characters moved properly so my daughter could at least mimic them!!
I'm so frustrated with this purchase.. It's just collecting dust now :( I wish I could send it back with a big fat note: "Thanx... but this sucks!!"
Still loving it 10 months later Feb 07, 2010 We've had this game for 10 months now. My 13 yr old rarely uses it, but I (53 yrs old) have used it a lot. It is so easy to burn off calories because it is so much fun I simply want to do another song and another song...! I thought the Disney music might be too juvenile, but I'm really glad I chose the Disney version because the songs are fun and sometimes funny. One thing I don't like is I can't find a way to turn off the jumps except in Workout mode and my feet and ankles can't handle the jump moves, so I mostly use workout mode (because I found that I was too competitive to be willing to resist jumping). Also in Workout it doesn't remember my last settings, so every day I have to put in a calorie goal and turn off jumping.
lots of fun for the whole family! Dec 28, 2009 I purchased this game strictly on the reviews. I am very satisfied with this game! We love playing it! The only thing that I dont care for are the hand markers. This was a problem I knew about from reading previous reviews. Luckily the hand markers can be turned off during play. My youngest is 4 and is very small for her age. She does have trouble playing the game but I do believe its just because of her size. Her little legs arent long enough to reach all the arrows on the game pad. The older kids have no trouble at all! I love how it has different levels and you can make the game over all easy to play. The game pads seem very durable and should last a long time as long as we take care of them. The music on the game is really good. Tons of old songs have been made upbeat and fun to "dance" to! I have already decided that when we master the majority of the dances on the Disney game we will get a game with more contemporary music.

not for young kids Nov 05, 2009 We bought this game for our family to play together but our two kids (ages 5 and 3) just cannot get the hang of it. Even at the most basic level, it is too advanced for them - this might have something to do with the mats and remotes not being very responsive to their movements. It is definitely for older kids. My 9 year old niece can play it. But if you're kids are young, do not waste your money!!!
We be dancin' Oct 07, 2009 The box wasn't in pristine condition, but it was a birthday gift for our 7-year-old so she didn't mind! It works great and she really enjoys it. The actual game is really fun. Navigating thru the menu options is a bit of a pain though. Hopefully that will get easier as we get used to playing it. Even my husband and I enjoy playing with her. I'm excited to get more DDR games for some more contemporary music. I'm really glad it comes with 2 dance mats. It's more fun to play with someone.
